1. Scope of Agreement
These terms apply to plumbing inquiries, estimates, appointments and services requested from Plumber in Troy NY by property owners, tenants and commercial facility managers in Troy and surrounding Capital Region communities. By calling or submitting an online quote request, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
2. Telephone Guidelines & On-Site Written Estimates
Initial cost figures or price ranges communicated over the telephone are estimated non-binding guidelines based on historical regional averages for standard repairs. Because hidden piping conditions, concealed structural obstacles, and local code variations cannot be verified by telephone, a firm written estimate is always provided on-site by the servicing plumbing professional before physical work begins. Work commences only after the property owner or authorized representative signs and approves the written scope.
3. Master Plumber Licensing & Municipal Permit Compliance
All plumbing services requiring municipal permits within the City of Troy or neighboring municipalities are performed by Class A licensed master plumbers or licensed trade entities authorized to pull municipal plumbing permits under City of Troy Code and the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code. The customer agrees to facilitate necessary municipal inspections as required by local code enforcement officers.
4. 24/7 Emergency Dispatch & Arrival Windows
Emergency dispatch services operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for urgent leak containment, burst pipe repair, sewer line blockages, and no-heat or no-hot-water emergencies. Dispatch arrival windows are provided as best-effort estimates subject to weather conditions, severe winter freezes, and current emergency call volumes across the Capital Region. Customers experiencing active water leaks are instructed to locate and close their main water shutoff valve immediately.
5. Property Access & Owner Responsibilities
The property owner or an authorized adult representative (at least 18 years of age) must be present on-site during the scheduled diagnostic evaluation and repair window. The customer agrees to provide safe, unimpeded access to water service entrances, basement mechanical rooms, crawlspaces, attic bays, cleanout risers, and utility panels necessary to perform code-compliant repairs.
6. Pre-Existing Conditions & Historical Piping Limitations
Due to the age of buildings throughout Troy and surrounding river communities (frequently constructed between 1880 and 1940), plumbing technicians may encounter deteriorated, brittle, or severely corroded infrastructure, including aged galvanized supply piping, lead services, and thin-walled cast iron stacks. Servicing technicians are not liable for incidental damage resulting from pre-existing structural decay, unsupportable historic framing, or brittle joints that fail during standard mechanical servicing.
7. Hazardous Materials & Environmental Safety
If plumbing technicians encounter suspected hazardous substances, including friable asbestos insulation, structural mold or severe sewage contamination, work may pause until the property owner completes appropriate environmental remediation.
8. Workmanship Warranties & Manufacturer Guarantees
Manufacturer warranties apply to eligible parts, fixtures, water heaters and sump pumps. Any workmanship guarantee for an installation will be stated clearly on the written service invoice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by New York law, liability for indirect, incidental or consequential damages is limited. Service scope, pricing, payment terms and applicable warranties are documented in the written estimate and invoice approved by the customer.
10. Governing Law, Dispute Resolution & Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the State of New York. Any legal dispute, arbitration, or proceeding arising under these terms shall be instituted exclusively in the state courts located in Rensselaer County, New York.
Our service terms reflect the City of Troy Master Plumber Code and New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code. Questions may be directed to our team at (518) 254-1835.
